Happy Monday!

Well happy Monday.  I have had a OK weekend end.  I ended up working.  That sucked but I got to hang out with some good friends.  I however was lazy and did not crochet anything this weekend but I did make a beef stew that rocked.  After I fed the guys here at work, I had very little left.

Oh, I am working on a quilt.  I have started pinning my blocks together.  Will keep you updated on that.

Been A While

I wanted to stop in and say I'm so sorry its been a while.  This year has been a rough one for me.  I got divorced, then found out that the woman my husband is now with is pregnant.  He and I couldn't have children.  He keep telling me he didn't want them and I ended up having to have a hysterectomy.  I was upset for a little while but I think I've gotten over it.  I know that one day I will be blessed with children, either through adoption or maybe i'll meet a man with kids.

I have been crocheting my butt off as Christmas is drawing closer.  I am giving hand made gifts this year for Christmas.  Hats and scarves for the kids.  Throws for the adults.  And I have gotten on the ball for next year.  I have decided to do quilts next year.  I found a pattern for a Bandana Quilt over at dollarstorecrafts.com .  I think I love that web site.    http://dollarstorecrafts.com/2009/06/bandanna-quilt/

I will start my first one as soon as I get my last crochet hat made.
Hope you all have a wonderful holiday season.

Back from a short vacation

My sister and her family invited me to go with them on vacation.  It was a free trip so I said yes.  I have been dealing with a lot of stuff in my personal life and decided a break would be good.  We went to her in-laws house in Bay Saint Louis, Mississippi.  I had never been there and had a blast.

We went to the beach one day.  Took the kids to a water park one day.  My sister and I slipped of and when to Gulfport to a bead store called, The Bead Shack.  It was awesome.  I will be making the trip back over there for sure. I have a necklace to make out of some beautiful turquoise to make.  I will work on that soon cause I want to wear that to a wedding in two weeks.

I also did some crocheting on the trip.  I found some fun fuzzy yarn and decorated some flip flops for my self, my sister, and her daughters.  They turned out very nicely.  I am also working on some lace trim handkerchiefs that I started on the trip.  I wanted to take something to work on that was small and would not take up a lot of room.

And the day before we left we went to New Orleans and went to the Zoo.  It was awesome.  I had never been to the Audubon Zoo.  I truly enjoyed it.

Baby Blanket

So my sister wants summer time baby blankets made.  I told her she is going to have to wait until I get at least one project done.  I am working on Kata Squares and Granny squares right now.  I have only so many hours in a day.  I also found a pattern for a circled blank that is awesome and I so want to try it it.  So little time and so many things I want to make.
